Who We Are

Zambia Nurses' Christian Fellowship

The Zambia Nurses' Christian Fellowship (ZNCF) is a Christian professional organisation working among nurses in Zambia. Introduced in 1964 by missionaries, scattered fellowship groups at Evangelical Mission Hospitals united in 1971 to form the national body. In 1972, ZNCF became a member of Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI).

Our Three Main Aims

  • Bringing Jesus Christ to nurses through evangelism
  • Promoting excellence in nursing
  • Facilitating care of caregivers

Previously hosted Africa Regional Conferences in 1974, 1982, 1998, and 2006 — 2026 marks the fifth time Zambia has the honour of hosting.

Nurses Christian Fellowship International

Founded in 1958, Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI) is a global fellowship of national nurses' Christian organisations, registered as a Non-profit Corporation in Colorado, USA. NCFI connects Christian nurses across six worldwide regions: Africa, Caribbean & North America, Europe, Latin America, Pacific & East Asia, and South Asia & Middle East.

Key Aims

  • Encourage Christian nurses to live out their faith in compassionate professional practice
  • Deepen the spiritual life and cultural awareness of Christian nurses worldwide
  • Equip and support the development of Christian nurse leaders worldwide
  • Represent Christian nursing in the global nursing and healthcare arena

Vice President of the Republic of Zambia

As the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. W.K. Mutale-Nalumango stands as a symbol of progress and gender empowerment in African governance. A former educator and seasoned politician, she has dedicated her life to public service and national development.

Her journey from classroom to cabinet is a testament to her belief in education, dignity, and inclusive leadership. Her role as Vice President places her at the forefront of shaping Zambia's socio-economic direction and uplifting marginalised voices, particularly women and youth.She openly identifies as a proud Christian in politics, often emphasising the Christian foundation of Zambia. She is a Reverend who advocates for unity, morality, and faith-based partnership in national development

Reverend Dr. Conrad Mbewe

Reverend Dr. Conrad Mbewe

Senior Pastor, Kabwata Baptist Church · Founding Chancellor, African Christian University

Conrad Mbewe trained as a mining engineer at the University of Zambia and worked in the Zambian copper mines for three years. In 1987 he was called to pastor Kabwata Baptist Church and continues to serve as pastor today. He holds a PhD in Missions from the University of Pretoria and is the founding chancellor of the African Christian University. In addition to his global preaching ministry, he is a prolific author — his latest book is God's Design for the Church. He is married to Felistas and they have six children and seven grandchildren.

Warrant Officer Dennis Opare

Warrant Officer, Ghana Air Force Medical Service · National President, NCF Ghana

Warrant Officer Dennis Opare is a distinguished healthcare professional serving in the Ghana Air Force Medical Service, where he has accumulated an outstanding career spanning 20 years of military service and 15 years of dedicated nursing practice. His unique dual background in both military discipline and clinical nursing gives him a deeply informed perspective on the mental health challenges faced by healthcare workers in demanding environments.

He serves as a Senior Nursing Officer at the 1st Battalion Medical Reception Station in Tema, Ghana, providing essential healthcare to military personnel and their families. Beyond his military duties, he serves with great distinction as the National President of the Nurses and Midwives Christian Fellowship (NCF) Ghana, offering both spiritual and professional leadership to nurses and midwives across the nation. He is a devoted family man, married with three children.

Mrs. Elizabeth Nagudi Situma

Nurse & Public Health Expert · Lecturer, Uganda Christian University

Mrs. Elizabeth Nagudi Situma is a distinguished Nurse and Public Health Expert with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academic instruction. She serves as a Lecturer at Uganda Christian University, where she is committed to shaping the next generation of nursing and midwifery professionals through education grounded in both clinical excellence and strong Christian values.

In addition to her academic role, Mrs. Nagudi Situma serves as Vice Chairperson of the Board of the Nurses and Midwives Christian Fellowship Uganda, where she champions the integration of faith and professional ethics in nursing practice. Her broad experience in public health and professional leadership across East Africa positions her as a leading voice on the opportunities and challenges of professional mobility for nurses and midwives across the African continent.

Topic: Expanding NCFI Ministries in Africa: Strategies for Growth and Impact

Dr. Mrs. Margaret Olusolape Jemilugba, FWAPCNM, NPOM

Nurse Educator & Administrator · Faculty of Nursing, Afe-Babalola University, Nigeria

Dr. Margaret Olusolape Jemilugba is a distinguished nurse educator and administrator with over 45 years of experience. She holds a B.NSc from the University of Ife and an M.Ed and PhD (Education) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. She served for 19 years as Director of Nursing Services in Ondo State, where she championed a national policy on Basic Midwifery Training that expanded maternal and child care across Nigeria.

She was the first female civil servant in Ondo State to receive the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) award in 2010. A Fellow of the West Africa Post Graduate College of Nursing and Midwifery, she currently lectures at Afe-Babalola University (ABUAD) and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses (FCN) Nigeria.

Mrs. Mercy Mayamiko Mbewe

Former Director of Nursing, University Teaching Hospital · Lecturer, National Institute of Public Administration

Mrs. Mercy Mayamiko Mbewe is a seasoned nursing leader and educator with deep expertise in clinical practice, leadership, and health research ethics. She holds a Master of Education from the University of Manchester, a BSc in Nursing from UNZA, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research Ethics from Stellenbosch University.

She previously served as Director of Nursing at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka and currently lectures at the National Institute of Public Administration. An avid reader and experienced consultant, she brings a wealth of practical and academic insight to nursing leadership in Zambia and beyond.

Topic: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions

Dr. Genevieve Musokwa

Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences · Northrise University, Zambia

Dr. Genevieve Musokwa is a nurse educator and programme manager with over 25 years of experience in health education, training, and development. She currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Northrise University, providing academic leadership across nursing and clinical medicine programmes.

She was instrumental in establishing the university's Nursing Department and has held senior roles including Past President of the Midwifery Association of Zambia and Executive Director of Khulu Associates, a reproductive health consultancy. She has worked with JHPIEGO on maternal and child health curriculum development and has contributed to training programmes across Zambia, Swaziland, South Africa, and beyond.
