About the Zambia Nurses' Christian Fellowship

1 January 2021·ZNCF Team

The Zambia Nurses' Christian Fellowship (ZNCF) is a Christian professional organisation working among nurses in Zambia with three main aims: bringing Jesus Christ to nurses through evangelism, promoting excellence in nursing, and facilitating care of caregivers.

ZNCF was introduced in Zambia in 1964 by missionaries. Small groups of Christian nurses met together for fellowship at Evangelical Mission Hospitals across the country. In 1971, these groups united to form the national fellowship, and in 1972, ZNCF became a member of Nurses Christian Fellowship International (NCFI).

Over the decades, ZNCF has grown to be active in more than 27 nurse training schools countrywide. The fellowship has hosted Africa Regional Conferences in 1974, 1982, 1998, and 2006. The upcoming 2026 conference will be the fifth hosted by Zambia — a milestone for our fellowship.

Our vision is to have a compassionate nurse who serves both clients and colleagues with excellence. Our mission is to engage, equip, encourage and empower all nurses in their professional growth using biblical principles.

ZNCF activities include seminars at hospitals, national camps and conferences, weekend conferences for student nurses, publication of the "Solace for You" magazine, adolescent counselling, health education in churches, and evangelistic outreaches to patients and communities.

We give thanks to God for the many dedicated nurses who have built this fellowship over the past six decades, from the early missionaries to our current national committee. We look forward to welcoming delegates from across Africa at the 2026 conference.
